P.P. no. Means Plant Progressive no. of Turbine. It is a unique no. with which we identify any turbine. It is punched on turbine number plate affixed on turbine base plate or bearing bracket.
Yes. In place of Mechanical Tachometer, we supply electronic tachometer with two dials for indicating speed at control desk and turbine panel.
We can supply normal pressure/temp. gauges. Even for old turbines we can supply digital temp. indicator with high live steam temperature alarm.
Yes, we provide LLOPT for old turbines. Our engineer can install the same during season/off-season as desired. It is very useful and saves turbine in the event of failure of oil pump.
We provide metaflex coupling for replacement of existing claw type HS Coupling. Flexible coupling takes care of minor misalignment during operation and have long life.
We require P.P.No. along with details of Turbine Frame Size/model and list of desired spares.
We do not have any special charges for attending any emergency or break down. We charge as per applicable service schedule.
Under normal circumstances we can depute our engineer to attend break down jobs on the same day from our Kolkata/Noida/Pune Offices. We can also move engineer from nearby site.
The best way to reach us for the services of our engineer for attending break down jobs is to contact our Regional Manager/Service Manager at following Nos.
- Mr.V.R.Pansare,Pune-Regional Manager – 09766314060

Yes, we can enter into contact with you for long term operation and maintenance of your plant.
Yes, we can enter into annual maintenance contract with our valuable clients.
Normally we plan to deliver standard spares within 4/8 weeks. However during emergency we endeavour to give you spares ahead of time to attend break down jobs. We still recommend to our clients to stock a set of recommended spares to minimise down time of their machines during emergency / breakdown.
We do stock some of the spares but since we have very large population of steam turbines in India and overseas market, at times it is difficult to provide you spares on “off- the shelf” basis. Large number of spares are tailor made to suit your machine’s requirement and hence not available on “off the shelf” basis.
On completion of commercial formalities our engineer moves out to site on the same day or next day depending on the availability of flight to reach nearest destination connected by air from where he travels by train/ taxi to site.
We have list of spares applicable for different frame sizes of turbines and you may write to us for a copy of list of recommended spares for your turbine. Furnish us your turbine P.P.No., Model of turbine to enable us provide you a list of recommended spares.
Turbine, gearbox and alternator has to be provided continuous lubrication. In the event of failure of main oil pump, aux. Oil pump should come into operation. In case the source of AC supply for operating AOP is not fail safe, one should opt for emergency oil pump. Normally DC motor driven emergency oil pump is provided for a minimum of 30 mins. run down/cooling of turbine bearings so as to ensure that there is no damage to bearings of turbine/gearbox /alternator during shut down period. AOP should not be used during normal operation of turbine.
The mesh size of control oil filter should be 25/30 microns while lubricating oil would have filters of 50-70 microns.
We recommend clients to get the viscosity and other property of oil checked at least once a year and depending upon the report of the oil company they should change the oil to ensure satisfactory result.
You can use old mill drive single stage turbines for generator drive. We carry out such retrofit jobs for our esteemed clients.
Yes, we can replace hydraulic governor with electronic governor package in BD-2 and other turbines.
Turbine life could extend beyond 5 decades provide you operate it on specified steam parameters. Quality of steam should always be maintained.
We retrofit old 21kg/cm2g turbines to enable you operate them on higher live steam condition. However, we carry out detailed analysis before retrofitting the turbine. Retrofitted SS26 turbines are operating on live steam condition of 45kg/cm2g, 450C.
Yes, you can improve the efficiency of old turbines. We carry out retrofitting of single and multi stage steam turbines for improved operational efficiency.
Turbine can be designed to give you best efficiency/steam consumption at rated rpm and full load or at rated rpm and 80% load depending on your requirement.
At full load difference in range and chest pressure should be 10% of the range pressure
We expect rise in water temp. In oil cooler to be around 4-6oC depending on inlet temp.
We expect drop in oil temp. Between 6-8oC in oil cooler depending on cooling water temp.
We expect client to ensure that cooling water temp. does not exceed 30-32oC even during summer season.
Normal bearing temp. remains around 60-65oC. However, if it is exceeds 80oC the cause of increase should be investigated.
It varies with the turbine frame and you may indicate your turbine frame where after we will apprise you the details. Normally we recommend usage of ISO VG-46 or ISO VG-68 depending on the turbine frame.
Lubricating oil pressure of Turbine Bearings should remain between 1.2 to 1.5kg/cm2g. We recommend use of lubricating oil conforming to our specifications as indicated in turbine manuals.
